Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

June 26

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Let’s pray to get out of the Holy Spirit’s way.”

“Most of us would admit to praying for a better job or more money or secure relationships. It’s not wrong to pray for any of these things. However, it keeps us thinking we can control situations if only God answers our prayers. The more we pray, the more willing God becomes, we hope.

Alas, we generally stay stuck because the ego’s prayers are so limiting. We only discover this, however, when we let the Holy Spirit take charge of where we go, what we do, what we think, whom we befriend, and thus who we become. We have so much more potential than the ego would ever credit us with.

It’s really much easier to pray only to stay out of the Holy Spirit’s way. It saves us from needing to figure out what we should do or think in particular situations. It frees us from trying to figure out a friend’s life too. There’s one thing to do, and only one thing, in every circumstance. Move aside for the Holy Spirit.”

“I’m tense because I’m trying to control the uncontrollable.
I’ll let the Holy Spirit work in my life today.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “The ultimate truth is always light, because all things end up in God. As soon as you start trying to hide your darkness, you are bound to hide your light.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Acknowledging inner conflict is the first step to making better decisions. In thinking of things I am worried about or of things I want changed, if I ask myself, “What would I like to happen?” the first few outcomes that come to mind are often superficial. But if I keep asking, “What else would I like to happen?” my desires often deepen. Yet as they do, they also start to conflict with the earlier desires. Recognizing the contrasting outcomes that I think I want, gives me the option of choosing what part of me I wish to be more of. In this way, conflict can be well used.”

Caroline Myss: “…your highest purpose is never a matter of title, power, wealth, and goods – as hard as that is for the ego to accept. Your highest purpose is what you soul can accomplish in union with your ego and God, not in opposition to them.”

Eckhart Tolle: “There is only one absolute Truth, and all other truths emanate from it. When you find that Truth, your actions will be in alignment with it. Human actions can reflect the Truth, or it can reflect illusion. Can the Truth be put into words? Yes, but the words are, of course, not it. They only point to it.”

Unity’s Daily Word

“With faith-filled enthusiasm,
I accept God’s good for my life.”

“As I awaken each day, conscious of God’s presence and giving thanks for the good that is going to be revealed in my life, I set an expectation of being blessed.”

“I keep that expectation active by looking for and recognizing the blessing that is always present and waiting my discovery. At times circumstances may challenge me, but with faith-filled enthusiasm, I look beyond circumstances to the truth of God’s goodness.”

“I am blessed because health, wholeness and abundance are components of my being. I enthusiastically give thanks to God for my blessings and accept my good in the myriad ways it comes to me.”
