Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Our minds are split.”
“We have certainly all be confused over making good decisions. Probably we’ve even said, “I just don’t know. I’m torn between two options.” The Course teaches us how one option frequently reflects the controlling ego, while the other option reflects the Spirit.
The question to ask is, which one feels best? Thinking we are right and that people should live their lives our way makes us tense, particularly when they don’t behave as we’d like, which is often. We aren’t eager to admit it , but the ego has caused the tension – not their behavior.
Letting go of people, outcomes, specific plans isn’t easy at first. It feels like we are shirking our duty. That’s how attached we are to letting the ego hold us hostage. It doesn’t feel good though, because every other ego wants its own say too. So we live in perpetual tension.
Since our minds have two parts, why not respond to the world from the Spirit, the side of us that makes us peaceful? It’s worth considering, isn’t it?”
“Both the Sprit and ego beckon today.
Only the Spirit offers me peace of mind.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “The inner life is like a garden we haven’t really thought of planting, which will bear all the fruit we could ever want, once we think to tend to its needs.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “I am never a victim of my thoughts unless I want to be. I can choose to overlook my ego thoughts and say I’m not really responsible because I lack awareness. Or I can acknowledge these thoughts yet choose to be destructive anyway “because the temptation is just too great.” But there is never total unawareness. No ‘hardwiring,’ ‘basic nature,’ or ‘inner demons’ can force me to betray my higher mind. However I may justify betrayal of myself or others, I alone choose to be a victim of my thoughts.”
Caroline Myss: “When you pray to have your calling revealed to you, you are actually asking for a life that benefits at least one person other than yourself. That is the mystic’s life purpose – to know his or her soul and put it to use in a spiritually radical form of service to others…your interior life becomes more valid, more real than your exterior life.”
Eckhart Tolle: “…medical treatment is the third-leading cause of death after heart disease and cancer in the United States.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“I have a faith in God that makes my day
and paves my way.”
“If I am facing a challenge that seems difficult to overcome, I affirm to myself: I have a faith in God that makes my day and paves my way. Such faith encourages me to let go and let God.”
“As I take time in prayer, I release all to God and feel the weight of having to make a decision on my own slip away. I realize that each choice I make is an opportunity for me to express my faith in God to bring about greater wonder in my life.”
“Knowing that God and I are one fills me with reassurance that even the most difficult challenge can reveal the greatest blessing. As a creation of God, I meet each day with faith. I understand that everything I accomplish is done through the presence of God expressing life and wisdom through me. I remain ever open to this guiding Presence.”

“There is one Life, and that I share with God.”
“Your grace is given me. I claim it now.”
“God is but Love, and therefore so am I.”
