Karen Casey,
Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“God created only Spirit.”
“Most of us grew up believing that God made everything. We felt secure thinking that the trees, the oceans, the creatures galore, and all human life were the direct creations of an all-powerful God. That interpretation certainly didn’t hurt us; however, we are learning now that God isn’t the creator of the world we see. In fact, it doesn’t even exist in God’s realm.
This news is unsettling at first. We wonder: Can so many religious beliefs be wrong? Fortunately, we don’t have to defend the principles to anyone. Deciding to believe it and then adjusting how we live our own lives will exemplify the value of this belief to anyone who really cares.
What does this principle do for us? For one, it makes take responsibility for how we see the experiences in our lives. Further, it convinces us that we’ll only see what we have chosen to see. Coming to believe that the ego causes our consternation gives us the freedom and encouragement to make others choices. Knowing that we created our messes humbles us. It can also empower us.”
“I create the smooth flow of my life today. The rocky road is my creation too.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “This is the spiritual meaning of intimacy: growth inward, past our masks and fears and recklessness, to the sacred place where we are naked before God and each other.”
Hugh Prater, Morning Notes: “To accept responsibility for everything I think and o – but guilt for nothing already corrected – is humility true and pure. A general uneasiness, a pang of conscience, or a sudden stab of anxiety can be a useful indicator that I am not being honest with myself. First, I must acknowledge what I am not facing. Next, I must act to correct it, even if this can only done mentally. Only then can I safely reject feelings of guilt.”
Carolyn Myss, Entering the Castle: “A heightened sense of your soul is an indicator that the divine has entered…with very clear intent. When your soul has become animated by the divine, you feel a dramatic increase in the sensation that something is different or about to happen, but you just don’t know what.”
Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth: “Behind every positive self-concept is the hidden fear of not being good enough. Behind every negative self-concept is the hidden desire of being the greatest or better than others. Behind the confident ego’s feeling of and continuing need for superiority is the unconscious fear of inferiority.”
Unity’s Daily Word: “God is working wonders in my life today.”
“I have faith that God is working wonders in my life and in the lives of others. Yet at times, I may feel this assurance more powerfully than at other times. Always, when I bring my thoughts back to God, I keep on keeping on.”
“My trust in God grows stronger as I shed positive light on any situation. When I perceive that another needs assurance, I offer a silent moment of prayer or spoken words of encouragement. These simple actions can help someone move forward.”
“My own act of faith – of sharing a word of reassurance and hope – is a sincerity of intention that is grounded in my trust in God. I know that God is the constant in every life and opens the way to rich blessings.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 194 “I place the future in the Hands of God.”
