Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

July 16

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“We can give up what our eyes can see.”

“One of the earliest exercises in the Course workbook tells us that nothing we see is real. It’s not easy to grasp this idea. Our leg hurts when we bump it; the chair moves we sit on it; the plate breaks when we drop it. What can it possibly mean that “what we see isn’t real?”

Clarity comes when we recall the text telling us that Jesus looked upon his wounds and did not see them. He looked beyond them and saw, instead, the crucifier’s fear and forgave them. Perhaps we aren’t yet able to respond so nobly to the many adverse conditions in our lives; however, we, too, can look past them if we so desire. But how?

The method is the same in every instance. When we’re distressed about anything at all, seek another perspective from the Spirit within. This response doesn’t make circumstances vanish. We may still see the turmoil, but we have no need to react to it. Peace has come, instead. It will always come if we seek it.”

“What captures my attention is my responsibility today.
I will see what I choose to see.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “We must teach our children that the abundance in the world is infinite and available to everyone because it comes from within us. As we teach our kids to bless the world, celebrate the world, and embrace the world, we hand them the keys to success.”

Hugh Prater, Morning Notes: “Let me not be afraid to relax and be happy. I can’t put myself in jeopardy by resting a moment in God. When I’m in the grip of my ego – whether angry, discouraged, afraid, jealous, judgmental, or any number of other such attitudes – I still have the option of pausing and remembering that God wants me to be happy and has provided a way for that to happen. Simply remembering God renews my connection with the place where I am already whole.”

Carolyn Myss, Entering the Castle: “That clear intent of the divine…is to engage you in a mystery…the divine may manifest in your life a series of challenges meant to wake you up from thinking that you control your world and everyone in it.”

Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth: “All you need to know and observe in yourself is this: Whenever you feel superior or inferior to anyone, that’s the ego in you.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“Giving expression to the peace of God within me,
I am peaceful and fulfilled.”

“Anytime the busyness of my day disrupts my peace of mind, I take a moment to rejuvenate myself through prayer. As I close my eyes, I focus on the breath of life moving through my body. This even, rhythmic flow brings my attention back to the peace of God.”

“Like a pristine reservoir of sparkling water, the peace of God wells up within me and infuses me with energy. This peaceful effervescence melts away any tension and invigorates my senses. With every breath, I immerse myself more deeply in this sacred experience of inner peace.”

“I emerge from these meditative moments refreshed and renewed. Giving expression to the peace of God that resides within me, I am peaceful and fulfilled.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 197

“It can be but my gratitude I earn.”

I see what I choose to see.

It is good to be aware of one's self.. and one's choices.
