Snips...

The Hindu tradition talks about the "veil." When we look at someone, we see our perception of that person. When we look with judgment, the veil becomes more opaque. But when we remember God's inclusive love for all of us, the veil thins, and we begin to see one another as our true selves, the children of God.

Unfortunately, the religious and moral values of our society have declared virtually all touching as "bad" or "sinful" or "sexual." It is the starvation for touch, not the touch itself that generates sexual dysfunction. Our culture is so anti-touch, it seems the norm for most of us to hate our bodies and avoid touch... the only true antidote for body hatred. How unfortunate! By associating touch with sin and guilt, especially in our early formative years, we have practically abolished our sense of touch from our lives. Touch is absolutely essential for human growth, development and health. Of the five senses (sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch) there is more brain tissue used to receive input from your skin than all the other four combined.

Once we've developed a relationship with our own inner teacher and guide, we
have access to an unerring source of clarity, wisdom, and direction, right
inside us at all times! Needless to say, this can be quite comforting,
especially in moments of fear and confusion. It gives us the basic sense of
trust that we need to have the courage to make this journey. From it we gain
the confidence that we are not alone, that there is a higher power guiding
our way and helping us along.

Spirituality cannot be something a person toys with, a little compartment of their lives. It has to be at the core, in a way that affects every other part of their lives.
Stephen Covey

The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.

I've always thought it was ironic how Society uses so many double standards.. selling everything by the visual or implication of sex..

and yet.... we starve.. for a soft touch, a warm hug, for real....

and they deny us the rights starting in elementary now.. no touching.. no adolescence behavior... and kids get lost in the confusion. The children are lacking in role models as well as discipline.

I overheard some men talking tonight.. they were talking about how once they were first in their wives lives..but then they were replaced by the house, the kids, the grandchildren. But the truth is that if they are that aware that something is wrong then they need to step up to the plate and talk heart to heart. The lack of real honest and open communication is another reason the world is lacking in touch....we have the choice... the right to choose...

but I was on my way to bed.... :)

G'night Jj!
