Be Here Now

Today is the first day of the new month. Many of us experience a quiet pleasure in turning the pages of our calendars to begin yet another cycle of life. Words like first, new, and beginning have a profound appeal upon our humans psyches. These words offer tantalizing hope for change and different possibilities and opportunities. They imply the ability to be done with old, worn out situations that have claimed our energy.

The clean page of a new month empowers us to choose how, when, and with whom we will spend our precious time. We may even decide to keep more days just for ourselves this month. How wonderfully indulgent!

Science of mind teaches that we can enjoy the power and possibility of new any time we chose, not just when we enter a new month, or a new year, or a new job or a new relationship. A frequently cited quote of our founder Ernest Holmes is that , "Principle is not bound by precedent " In other words the only time that exist is now because the past is gone and the future has yet to be established by choices made in this moment.

The infinite potential and unlimited power of God awaits our thought now to create the circumstances and conditions of our lives. In the infinite now as we remember our oneness with God we have the power to release the past and create a new and better future. Every breath we take can be a new beginning if we choose. Affirm: Today I chose to make all things new. I rejoice in my freedom to release the past and create my life with God, in God and as God.
