Healing is Revealing

I think one of the most difficult assignments as spiritual beings is to remember our own divinity during times of great stress and upheaval in our lives. The feeling of separation and loneliness can be overwhelming. Yet, this is precisely the time when we need to reign our centeredness, and allow Spirit to work through us.

Recently I was quite ill for several months. It was next to impossible for me to remember I was a magnificent creation of Spirit and that I was whole, perfect, and complete, when I was in great pain and not sure what the prognosis was. My wife who is a Religious Science Practitioner would lovingly remind me that while I was experiencing a difficult time the ultimate reality was that God and I are one. When I was able to remember this the healing begun.

We must take our thinking to a place in consciousness that knows perfect health, abundance, the perfect relationship, or whatever it is we are seeking. We have to accept it or claim it.

Joel Goldsmith wrote that the secret of healing is knowing that God is and God is good. However he also cautions that we need to know and understand what that means for healing to occur. For me, it means that there is a sense of order and purpose to the universe and hence to our lives. The God I believe in is not a God of sickness and pain, but one of vigor and vitality. And since that God wants me to share in all the wonders of the universe as I accept the gifts I am healed.
Affirm: Today I remember wherever I am God is with me. We are one. I am healed.
