The Promise of Christmas

We have the very essence of God within us -- written in our hearts. And through this deep connection we are assured that God knows the desires of our hearts, even before we express them.

There is something very satisfying and healing about putting words on paper, especially when they are the words of your heart, your innermost thoughts. When the words you write are your deep desires, your intentions, your prayers, your affirmations, you are setting into motion a process for these things to become evident.

We know that this form of putting words on paper is a form of release and when we let these concerns go when we surrender them to God we open ourselves to receive the right and perfect answer. Myrtle Fillmore, cofounder of Unity, expressed her importance of this process when she wrote:

Sometimes I have written a letter to God when I have wanted to be sure that something would have divine consideration and love and attention. I have written the letter, and laid it away in the assurance that the eyes of the loving and all wise Father were seeing my letter and knowing my heart and working to find ways to bless me and help me to grow. So I suggest that you write a letter to God putting into words that which your heart holds and hopes for. After you have placed your hearts desires with God don't be anxious or worried or negative. Don't look for signs that God has responded. Busy yourself with the work God gives and with study and prayer develop into a real companion and a real radiator of happiness and inspiration. Spirit intends you to be a radiating center that will draw to you whatever you need to be well and strong, successful and prosperous. Myrtle Fillmore's Healing Letters
