Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“We are always demonstrating one thought system or the other.”
“When we’re in a controlling mood, the ego is holding us hostage. When we’re smiling and comfortably walking past the turmoil, we’ve given the ego the boot! Why would we ever choose the discomfort that tags along with the self-serving ego?
When we’re angry or anxious, we can always tap into another thought system. We all have acquaintances who seem stuck in the ego’s point of view. Being an example to them of another way is perhaps the best we can offer today. Since love and fear are the only expressions available to any of us, we can be vigilant about which one we’ll embody.
The ego will continue to get us in trouble on occasion. After all, we are still human. Learning to live in concert with the Holy Spirit is a process, for some a longer one than for others. We have all the time we need.”
“Who will I be today? What a thrill knowing it’s my choice.”
Marianne Williamson: “Surrendering a situation to God means surrendering to Him our thoughts about it. What we give to God, He gives back to us renewed through the vision of the Holy Spirit.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Don’t be afraid to gaze into God’s loving eyes and know that you are cherished. It’s arrogant to think that God has pets and you are one singled out as unlovable. In true humility, look into the still mirror of peace and see your likeness.”
Wayne Dyer: “Acknowledge your sadness, understand it is unreal, and then let it go. Don’t attempt to fake happiness in the face of sadness.”
Paul Ferrini: “The goal in life should not be to accumulate resources that you don’t need and cannot possibly use. It should be to earn what you need, enjoy and can share joyfully with others.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“The love of God is expressing order in my life in every moment.”
“In the midst of a challenge, it may seem as if divine order is nowhere evident, yet I know that it is present and powerfully active. I may become aware of this sacred orderliness only after it has moved through the circumstances and events of my life. I then understand that all was in divine order.”
“Beyond my hopes and expectations, above even my faith and comprehension, I know that that the love of God is expressing order in my life and throughout the universe at this moment and always. Therefore, I know to never give in to feelings of fear or apprehension. I know to never give up on the power of divine love to right every seeming wrong, to calm every storm of emotions, to heal every condition of heart, mind, and body.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 362
“This holy instant would I give to You.
Be You in charge.
For I would follow You,
certain that Your direction gives me peace.”
