Oneness

You are never given a wish without also being given the power to make it come true. You may have to work for it, however. Richard Bach

Individuality means self choice, volition, conscious mind, personified spirit, complete freedom, and a Power to back up that freedom. Science of Mind

Recently I was reading a book by DR Howard Thurman, wherein he discussed a group of trees in the Sahara Desert that survived despite searing heat and heavy winds. It seems that while other trees in the vicinity were dying off, this group sent its roots deep into the ground, where they found a river that continued to feed them. No matter how tough the climate became these trees were able to survive and flourish. The lesson is obvious, if we have developed deep spiritual roots, we too can survive when life takes a difficult turn.

It seems so paradoxical that we are the only creatures on the planet with freedom of choice and the ability to cocreate our lives, and yet we continue to suffer from a variety of physical, emotional and spiritual hurts. At times life can seem more like a chore than the gift it is. Why is that? My guess is that we forget who we are. In tough times we go straight to ego and decide we know how life should be. When our plans fail, we feel lonely and confused.

The truth is we have a power within us that stands ready, willing and able to solve all of our issues. it is the power of our word. It is our own divine nature. It can lead us from bondage to freedom. But we must do the work. And the work is not difficult. it is simply creating an opening to express. We don't need to will it we don't need to force it, we just need to let Spirit love us as only it can.
Affirm: In the beauty of this moment I open myself to spirit's love, and I am transformed.
