Snips

Part of taking responsibility for ourselves means taking responsibility for what we want and need, and knowing that's okay to do. Learning to tune-in to ourselves, learning to listen to ourselves, is an art. It takes practice. We can use our ability to guess what others want and need, and apply that skill to ourselves. What does it sound like we might want and need? What would we guess would help us feel better? What are our feelings telling us? Our body? Our minds? Our intuition? If we ask, then listen closely; we'll hear the answer. We are wiser than we think, and we can be trusted. What we want and need counts. It's important, and it's valid. It's okay to learn to participate in meeting our own needs. We can learn to identify what we want and need and be patient with ourselves while we're learning. Today, I will pay attention to what I want and need. I will not discount myself.
*Melody Beattie*

"We are at the beginning of a great awakening, an awakening to who we really are and what our right relationship is to other people. Our awakening to others cannot be separate from our awakening in God because God is our love for each other."
Marianne Williamson

AA Thought of the Day / Time after time newcomers have tried to keep to themselves certain facts about their lives... they have turned to easier methods... But they had not learned enough humility... / AA, pp. 72-73

You are the person you choose to be. So choose to be the person who fulfills and brings to life the values you hold most dearly. Today is your opportunity to express yourself to the world through the life you live and the actions you take. The challenges of this moment provide a rich canvas upon which you can paint the highest vision you have. Listen to the yearnings of your heart and keep pointing yourself in their direction. By focusing on what is truly meaningful, you will cause much real value and richness to spring forth from the life you live. Choose to glide right past the shallow concerns that hold so many people back. Keep your eye on the big picture, and create new positive substance as each moment passes. Go beyond merely appearing to be happy, and dive into the authentic joy of making a positive difference. Give the best that you have to life, and you'll find each day to be even more fulfilling than the last. There is a treasure within you that is yearning to weave itself into the fabric of life. Go ahead and let it come shining through.
Ralph Marston

Love is within us. It cannot be destroyed. It can be ignored. To the extent that we abandon love we will feel it has abandoned us. Denying love is our only problem, and embracing it is the only answer. Through the power of love, we can let go of past history and begin again. Love heals, forgives, and makes whole.
Ernest Holmes

Every single act of love releases blocked energy in your body. Unconditional love heals the body and the mind. Keep reminding yourself of this truth until it becomes your reality. Love is a frequency that you can choose to tune into, just you tune into a frequency on the radio.
Wayne Dyer

"Let God be your teacher. Let the Tao flower in you. You don't need to control things anymore. When you are willing to be helpful, life flows through you. You become the channel, the means by which love without conditions can reach into the world."
Paul Ferrini

"…there is no such thing as just existing. Everything is in service to everything else. Existence is giving and receiving. A stone gives and receives no less than a saint."
Jacob Needleman

“Our deepest need is for the joy that comes with …knowing we are of genuine use to others.”
Eknath Easwaran
