To live a truly spiritually based life calls for some degree of courage. In practicing the Science of Mind we turn away from circumstances and conditions and give our attention to causes that are primarily mental and spiritual. That requires courage.
When others are giving great attention to circumstances and conditions our conviction that life is primarily mental and spiritual is really put to the test. We may feel tempted to give power to external appearances, because they seem to be more real than anything mental or spiritual.
However when we began to prove through our actions, mental activities and spiritual practices what we have intuitively felt to be true, it is then that we have personal evidence that emboldens us.
When we have personal evidence and experience to back up what we have learned through spiritual study we are able to move forward courageously even in the face of fear. Similarly when we have a personal sense of oneness, unity, and connectedness gained through daily meditation, we have evidence that moves us from believing to knowing. Affirm: Today I chose to believe rather than hope and through practice prove what I believe. God within me, as me already knows. The truth sets me free.
