Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“To heal the mind is to heal the body.”
“As students of the Course, we must guard against putting ourselves down when we manifest illness of any kind. While it’s true that “right-mindedness” can prevent sickness, we are merely students, not avatars, and we’re still learning about our mind’s power as we travel this path. It’s an exciting journey, and every experience offers us another piece of the puzzle we’re creating. Let’s nurture gratefulness.
Our doubts and misperceptions, normal in any learning process, trigger the aches and pains we experience. Simply acknowledging this and then allowing our minds to change will, in turn, change what the body feels. It’s not always easy to let the mind change, because the ego doesn’t occupy the whole mind. The Holy Spirit is present too. When we think with the Holy Spirit’s help, our aches and pains remarkable diminish.”
“How I think affects how I feel.
My health will reflect how I’m thinking today.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Asking the Holy Spirit to heal us when we are sick means asking him to heal the thoughts within us that give rise to sickness.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Commitment does not preclude peace, and peace does not preclude commitment. Most of us think we are in situations we should not have to accept and around people we should not have to endure. Yet the life of every saint, prophet, and master is a story of acceptance that endures and endurance that accepts.”
Wayne Dyer: “When you are in a condition of fear, you are experiencing problems. When you remove fear and replace it with love, the problems dissolve right where you experience them, in your thoughts.”
Paul Ferrini: “Since there are no perfect partners out there, your challenge is to accept and honor the imperfect one who stands before you and yes, to honor yourself, even though your life also is riddled with mistakes.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“Thank You, God,
for the healing that is happening to me and through me.”
“I may pray for a desired healing with specific results in mind, not considering that my healing can come about in any other way.”
“The truth is that I don’t need to be specific, envisioning a certain way or time for a healing. I look to and trust in God for the true direction in healing. With faith-filled anticipation, I have a God-inspired perception of healing.”
“Through this divinely inspired perception, I am no longer focused on what I had perceived to be needs. I can now envision the health and wholeness that is mine to claim, the healing that ushers in a new beginning with opportunities for greater well-being.”
“I thank God for the healing that is happening to me and through me.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 221
“Peace to my mind. Let all my thoughts be still.”
