Whenever I want to establish new habitual patterns of thought and behavior the metaphor of a wheelbarrow carving a new groove in the dirt comes to mind. As the ditch gets deeper, the wheelbarrow stays in the groove more firmly and easily.
This groove concept can also be applied to learning to live in Spirit consciousness. To remain firmly rooted on the Spirit path with ease and grace, the "Groove of God," must be deep enough and wide enough to keep us from being puled off track. The challenge comes from when the grove appears to be so shallow that we have difficulty staying on course. We may skip in and out of the shallow groove as we are pulled by the stress of eternal circumstances.
How can we deepen and widen this groove in our lives? We can start by placing our attention on love, peace, joy and abundance, set clear intentions, and make conscious choices to focus on living from love rather than fear.
The tools of meditation, affirmation, and spiritual mind treatment are always available for our continual use. When we are rooted in the groove of God, no matter what our circumstances, we are able to remain stalwart in the Spirit unshaken by the judgment of others and the seeming chaos of earthly existence.
Affirm: I live in the groove of God and know the truth of life as love. The Science of Mind
