Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“We can be in the world but not of it.”
“Recall how Jesus responded to his enemies while he hung on the cross. We are told he merely observed them and forgave them. He neither felt their attacks nor acknowledged them. His example was to show us the Way. We, too, can look beyond any present experience and see, instead, only the peace of God’s world.
We can imagine doing this but seldom do we actually do so. The seduction of anger or worry captures us instead, and we give our lives over to the ego and its nightmare. We need not feel like failures because we do this. We can simply admit to forgetting the better way and try harder the next time we experience a tumultuous circumstance.
Looking a situation while rising above it gives us immeasurable freedom. Choosing the option to experience only peace changes who we are forever.”
“I can be free of all turmoil today.
I need not be affected by anything that happens.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “The first step in forgiveness is the willingness to forgive. If you can state, despite your resistance, your willingness to see the spiritual innocence, the light in the soul of one who has harmed you, you have begun the journey to a deep and unshakable peace.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “If there’s a question whether to say it, don’t say it. Love is a state of grace, a way of seeing and blessing, yet its test is not that it seems pleasant and nice. It must be genuine. I always know if my intention comes from my heart, because I feel no hesitation, no small sense of conflict before I speak. I should always support and advocate for any loved one who needs and wants my help and any child I am in a position to assist, and my stand may at times appear unyielding. But I know what it truly is. Yet if I am conflicted as I start to speak, my ego is already involved and it’s better to wait until I feel clear, because conflict will accompany whatever conflict motivates.”
Wayne Dyer: “When you go backward and continuously relive your pain, including describing it in most introductions and labeling yourself…you do not do for strength. You do it because of your inner experience of bitterness.
Paul Ferrini: “If you could be without time for a single instant, you would understand your salvation. In that timeless moment, nothing you have said or done means anything. In that moment, there is nothing to own: no past, no future, no identity. There is just the moment of pure being, the moment you inhabit all the time without knowing it.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“As members of God’s family,
we are peaceful, contented, happy, and fulfilled.”
“I feel safe and accepted within my family circle, which may include my family of origin and a group of close friends.”
“As I grow in spiritual awareness, I discover new friends who help support me in my walk with God. I welcome these new faces into my family, recognizing and giving thanks that God has brought us together.”
“I am grateful for the love and support of my family. Each person is important to me, so I commit time and energy to maintaining our relationship. I call or visit to offer words of encouragement in stressful times. I celebrate successes.”
“We are together by divine appointment, and we open our hearts willingly to discover the higher purpose of our connection. As members of God’s family, we are peaceful, contented, happy, and fulfilled.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 93
“Light and joy and peace abide in me.”
Some of us see this as a question – is the light, joy and peace within me? Why don’t I feel them? What is wrong with me? Light, joy and peace abide in each of us because they come from the truth within us all. It is only us that are not aware of their presence, only us that do not call upon the strength within us to experience these gifts from God. If you are one that denies their presence, then you are, in effect, denying God as well. God is within each of us, and all of the gifts of God are present also. Some of us just have not taken the moment to open our gifts. Aren’t you interested in what God has for you?
