Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

May 1

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Miracles are shifts in the mind’s perception.”

“We have all heard a story of someone who was cured of cancer. Wouldn’t that be a miracle in the body? Some might argue yes; however, many would say a change in the body has to be precipitated by a change in the mind. If illness is all one thinks is possible, illness is what one gets. Thinking health and well-being might not make a disease disappear, but the person’s healed mind and attitude will guarantee a peaceful response to life.

Learning that miracles happen in our minds should bring comfort to all students of the Course. It means we are all privy to them, whenever we want, regardless of the circumstances hindering us.”

“I’ll monitor my mind’s work today.
What I think is all-powerful.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “There is nothing in this world that truly gives us peace, for peace lies in our transcendence of this world. Our most fervent wish is for the peace of God.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “My mind, which is a gift from God, will never die. It is my responsibility and in my care forever. Ego desires often come with a sense of urgency, as if the present moment will soon end: ‘Do it now’ (before you come to your senses). ‘Just do it’ (before your conscience kicks in). I am free to misuse my mind, but the lessons will be repeated until it is learned. Willfulness is not a happy approach to life. Yet if I pause long enough to experience sanity, not only do I rest from misery but I also give a measure of rest to an unquiet world, which has waited far too long for its human family to notice it.”

Caroline Myss: “A spirituality of intuition is a false spirituality. Although intuition can allow you to reshape your ordinary life with a sense of spiritual power…intuition is not a spiritual force. It is a practical skill that you can develop, a matter of the ego, not of the soul.”

Eckhart Tolle: “The egoic mind is completely conditioned by the past.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“Filled with the energy of Spirit,
I accomplish all things easily and efficiently.”

“”Just as springtime brings newness and vitality to nature, prayer energizes and inspires me. So if I begin to feel overwhelmed or tired, I take a prayer break. I release any concerns, and as I rest in God’s presence, hope fills my heart, and my energy is renewed.”

“Energy is the key to the fulfillment of my goals, and even a brief time of prayer renews my strength. Doing for others expands my sense of accomplishment, so I may find volunteer work, take flowers to a neighbor, or offer to walk another’s pet.”

“I know, too, that taking care of myself is a way to preserve and restore my energy. I spend time in the silence with God. I enjoy a hobby or my favorite form of exercise. I listen to the still small voice of Spirit within me and do what is best for my soul’s growth.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 121

“Forgiveness is the key to happiness.”

Without forgiveness I cannot pass through the door in front of me. With forgiveness the door is open and I am able to pass through. Where does the forgiveness come from? How can I obtain it? Forgiveness is forever a part of my choosing – a part of my free will. It is but another thought to replace a thought I hold that is not a thought of love. Forgiveness is for me so that I may extend love to another. Forgiveness is not about forgiving another for something I think they have done – it is always and only about me and my thoughts.

Namaste - Ron
