Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

October 23

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Let’s join with one another.”

“Looking at our companions as “others,” as separate human beings, can make us defensive and insecure. Considering how quickly arguments are triggered and feelings hurt, it’s not easy to grasp that we are One in the Real World. Feeling compassion for anyone who is hurting will heighten our awareness of Oneness.

When we are lonely, afraid, or anxious, we can gather a moment’s peace along with hope from a friend who “joins” us by reaching out. He or she doesn’t even have to speak. Just knowing that our problem matters to someone else lessens it for us.

Sharing our burdens with the people who reach out to us gives them a chance to show love. We are teaching and learning simultaneously. We strengthen each other and enhance all the dreamed-for possibilities of our lives. We can do so much for one another’s happiness every day with so little effort.”

“I will look for an opportunity to join forces with another soul today.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “When I wallow in a mistake, I merely get more of it all over me. One of my most perverse hindrances to peace and mental wholeness is eliminated when we learn to reach to a mistake – no matter its flagrancy or persistence – by simply acknowledging it and beginning again. Today I will remember that redemption is always possible, but that past wrongs can only be made right in the present.”

Wayne Dyer: “Don’t let yourself be a sounding board for the sorrowful tales of others.”

Paul Ferrini, “When you create what you want, celebrate it. Be grateful for it. Give up your pictures of the way you thought it would be. Embrace it just the way it is. Work with it. Use it. Love it and keep on loving it.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“With one voice, we proclaim the unity of all life.”

“In thought, word, and prayer, we proclaim our unity as creations of God. With one voice, from across a street or an ocean, in country after country, we reaffirm our unity of spirit.”

“Whether we are in an arid land or rain forest, on a coastal cliff side or a rolling plain, we contribute to a consciousness of our sacred kinship. We think and act with integrity toward one another. This shared intention continues to bond us whether we are near or far apart.”

“Our mutual respect for and appreciation of one another grow stronger. As we nurture empathetic ways to understand and to be understood, our love and compassion continually flow. We are energized by our unity of spirit, the unity of all life.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 296

“The Holy Spirit speaks through me today.”
