Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“We try to adjust to the world we made.”
“Might there be a better world than the one we’re experiencing, a place free from violence and poverty, abuse and disease? The answer, of course, is yes. The Course teaches that we have created this world of experiences, and if we want something different, that’s up to us.
It’s not coincidental that we have crossed the paths of our companions. We have decided we want what we experience together or we would have created something quite different. This knowledge allows us to feel both grateful and responsible. It also pushes us to return to the drawing board if we want a different world.
It’s folly to settle for what we experience if it leaves us unhappy or dissatisfied. The better world is always a mere thought and decision away. Our companions will be there too. Let’s not try to fit into a world we don’t like.”
“My mind is my tool for happiness today.
It will follow the Holy Spirit’s lead if I choose that voice.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we’re liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “I can chase the future, but only the present can be caught. A surprising amount of frustration is over what I can’t possibly do anything about. It has already happened, or its something that will never happen, or it may happen in some general way but there is nothing I can do about it now. Since I can always be helpful to myself or others this instant, when I notice my mind trying to solve the impossible, I will stop and ask myself if an unattainable pursuit is more desirable that the potentials of the present.”
Wayne Dyer: “Keep a death grip on that bone called hope regardless of what comes along, and regardless of the obstacles and so-called failures that have previously induced despair.”
Paul Ferrini, “Instead of trying to change ‘what is’ to make it be what you want, you learn to accept it and dance with it. You don’t have to sacrifice, beg, borrow or steal. You just have to be clear, committed, flexible and alert in the moment to the opportunities that emerge.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“God’s presence enfolds me and moves with me
wherever I go.”
“Perhaps alone – in the middle of the night, with my life in transition – perhaps in a crowd, with many people bustling about me headed in different directions – I may feel unsettled, vulnerable, or insecure.”
“At times like these, I remember to pause for a moment and take several relaxing centering breaths. I imagine a golden glow of God’s presence enfolding me and moving with me, guiding me and protecting me wherever I go.”
“I remind myself that God is present, within and around me, wherever I may be, however I may feel. The abiding presence of my Creator is my constant companion. I am confident, secure, and reassured because I know that God is guiding and protecting me in this moment and in all future moments.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 299
“Eternal holiness abides in me.”
