Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

November 8

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“Our separation from God is an illusion.”

“It is comforting to know that we were never abandoned by God. Nor have we ever left the security of His realm. We don’t remember our life with God, but it was and is real. It’s impossible to be, even now, where God is not.

Why doesn’t this seen true? The only reasonable answer is that that’s how cunning the ego is. Its survival is dependent on our alignment with it. Were we to remember God and acknowledge our Oneness with God, the ego would be doomed.

Can it really be that this world is only an illusion? We can touch objects, we can hear voices, we can interact with people in the same room and miles away. To be told this is illusory, not actually real, seems crazy. Let’s look at it another way. We have opted for bodies as our vehicles to move through this classroom. And on this level, everything we see is real. But the Spirit within our body, and everyone else’s too, is all that’s actually real, nothing more.”

“I am at home with God today.
Nothing has to upset my enjoyment of this fact.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Life goes on forever. It always was and always will be. Physical incarnation is just one form that life can take.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Wear not your spiritual beliefs like jewelry. Cherish them secretly within your heart. We come into the world unencumbered by ‘formative experience’ and free of anxiety about the implications of what has already occurred. Our first experience of this is a gift; our second experience must be learned, practiced, and protected. If we use our episodes of light and our insights of oneness to exhibit how special we are, we sabotage our progress and must begin again. The effort needed can and should be pleasant. But only sustained effort leads to sustained peace.”

Wayne Dyer: “When someone feels mistreated, hurt, lost, or just plain alone in their misery it is as if they have a black cloud hovering above their head…In bringing light to this picture of bleakness we can choose to treat others as we would like to be treated.”

Paul Ferrini: “Why hold on to shame or blame when the breeze of forgiveness blows through the land, lifting hears burdened by grievances and thoughts of retribution?”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“In the stillness of this moment,
I rest in God’s love.”

“If ever I become caught up in a cycle of trying to understand the actions of others or of questioning some circumstance, I may need a rest. I then go deep within myself to a quiet place, an inner temple where the love of God resides.”

“God’s love is my internal resource of peace that cannot be displaced or reduced by the appearance of any outer circumstance or condition. This presence of pure love within me nourishes and encourages me moment by moment.”

“I am calmed and strengthened as I rest in the presence of divine love and realize the fullness of it. When I return to the activities of the day, I retain an awareness of the love of God that is within me and continually refreshing me.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 312

“I see all things as I would have them be.”
