Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“We have the power to strengthen our willingness to love.”
“Most of us have numerous characteristics that we don’t relish. We are pretty ashamed of some, in fact. Isn’t it interesting that we note these same traits in others? What a relief. We’re not the only “sinners.” Often we decide that someone else displays the trait in even more obnoxious ways than we do. That’s really good!
The ego is out of control in such cases. It can’t see the truth, the Oneness of all. It recognizes nothing but the negative aspects of others because single-handedly it projects them. The ego never loves or forgives or is at peace, so it can’t see goodness in others. Only what lies within a thought manifests without.
Committing to see only love in the external world will be answered with only love in return. It’s a perfect balance, always. What we get, we have given. Who we see, we are. The only way we can change our experiences in the outer world is by thinking from the peace-filled side of our inner world.”
“If I want more love in my life,
I have to cultivate my willingness to forgive.
Today will test my willingness.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “You can see the glass half empty, or you can see it half full.” You can focus on what wrong in your life, or you can focus on what’s right. But whatever you focus on, you’re going to get more of. Creation is an extension of thought. Think lack, and you get lack. Think abundance, and you get more.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “The answer is quietly heard and quietly hold. Let the roots of your knowing deepen and expand. Water them with your patience and your clear purpose. Where is the shame in admitting that you have not yet arrived? Let the world rant about who is right, then respectfully return your heart to the quiet answer.”
Wayne Dyer: “The people who tell us exactly what we want to hear, while it may be comforting in the moment, are not the people we trust.”
Paul Ferrini: “My disciples help people feel connected to the loving God who watches compassionately over all of us. They live the love they talk about. They model the teaching.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“United in thought and prayer,
we link our minds and hearts in oneness of Spirit.”
“God is the Creator of all. Therefore, all people are joined as members of the universal family of God.”
“I know this is true, yet when entering a room full of people, I may at first feel like a stranger. Or I may sense a certain mood of the group before a word has been spoken. Remembering who we are and looking past the emotions of the moment, I sense the energy of God-created life that connects us.”
“Whether we are in the same room or on separate continents, as members of the universal family of God, we can be aware of the sacred connection we share. United in thought and prayer, we link our minds and hearts in oneness of Spirit.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 317
“I follow in the way appointed me.”
