Seeds for the Garden of your Mind

November 29

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“We can’t adapt this world to us.”

“Wanting to change all the circumstances in our lives to meet our specifications is so commonplace. Not only do we want to change every detail, we willfully try to do so, and we butt heads with all the other ego’s who also try to control every event. Most days are riddled with conflict and we seldom meet with success. Opposing opinions aren’t easily blended.

When we can’t change the people and the situations in our live, what comes next? Until we acquired the wonderful tool that is now at our disposal, we sulked or screamed; sometimes we withdrew and planned our revenge. What a refreshing response we’re able to make now. And it’s so simple. Funny that it never occurred to us before, but our entire identity was wrapped in our need to be right, to be in control. Can we really part with that need?

Deciding to seek another way to see the struggle we’re in removes the stress and the burden of whatever is happening. Only after trying this on many occasions do we come to fully appreciate how good life can be when it’s just left alone.”

“Today is my chance to look for agreement with others.
I’ll find it every time if I really want it.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “As we end this (year) and prepare for the new, our greatest power to affect the world lies in our capacity to forgive and release what has been and surrender what shall be into the hands of God.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “The longer I judge, the more I become like the person I am judging. The rule for restoring peace of mind is: Do not allow criticism to leave your mind. Do not project it or act it out. Remove its source, then repair the damage to your mind quickly. Even though the source of criticism is the desire to criticize, this rule entails no actual sacrifice. To the contrary, the longer I dwell on another’s weakness, the weaker I become.”

Wayne Dyer: “By purifying your body, your thoughts, your language, you are purifying all your behaviors and ultimately bringing in one of the central ingredients of light to shine on any and all darkness that you may have created as a shadow on your life.”

Paul Ferrini: “The greatest teachers are the most humble, the most loving, the most empowering to others. If you wish to find such a teacher, you must look beyond appearances. Find the man or woman who promises you nothing, but loves you without hesitation.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“The peace in my heart is being expressed
in my thoughts, words, and actions.”

“We are all peacemakers. Peace on earth is being established as one by one, people the world over affirm: From this moment on, the peace in my heart is being expressed in my thought, words, and actions.”

“Peace will come about as day by day we live the truth of who we are: spiritual beings on a spiritual journey. And let us never forget the power of good released in our prayers for peace. Through our prayers, our words, and our actions, we are active participants in bringing about peace on earth – the peace that is the reality for every locality and every country of our world.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 333

“Forgiveness ends the dream of conflict here.”
