Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Relationships never really end.”
“Relationships are eternal. This can be a comforting idea, particularly when a loved one dies and we want to savor the good memories and hold his or her Spirit close.
But what does it really mean to accept that our pain-filled, troubled relationships are also eternal? Some principles of this path are hard to rejoice over. The bottom line, however, is that each relationship is a teaching/learning opportunity. Each one helps us know the Spirit better. Each one offers a channel to the Holy Spirit, yet each one can trigger the ego if we’re not vigilant.
If relationships never end, does it mean that we will again meet up with those we loved as well as those we loathed? The Course says yes. In some form we will come together again. And as Spirits we will know love; we will know how to offer only love. We will have joined God.”
“A difficult relationship is my opportunity to look at the Holy Spirit
rather than being a hostage to the ego today.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Anger is one of fear’s most potent faces. Before we express our anger to others, the attitude of empowerment is to express our anger as well as our pain to God. He can handle it. The line “Vengeance is mine, sayeth the Lord” actually means that. When the anger mounts, call on God. Tell Him First.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Peace, not perfection, is my goal. Naturally, we make mistakes. In fact, all we do is make mistakes. If we stopped making mistakes, we would ascend. So, becoming perfect is not a reasonable goal, but losing my fear of mistakes is. The correct response to a mistake is to look at it, acknowledge that I made it, ask myself what I can do differently next time, then quickly start over and return to peace.”
Wayne Dyer: “Finding joy means consciously deciding to process your life in ways that focus on gratefulness for what you have.”
Paul Ferrini: “The purpose of a spiritual community is to hold a vision of everyone’s innocence. Members of the community love and accept each other here and now. Past mistakes, transgressions, misunderstandings, no matter how seemingly severe, are not held against anyone. Each person is seen as new, innocent, unstained.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“My mind and spirit are forever free.”
“As a snowflake falls toward the earth, it spins and flutters along a unique path. It may ride for a great distance upon a powerful gust of wind or it may travel gently and directly to the ground. There are infinite possibilities for these intricately shaped ice crystals.”
“Many things in our environment may remind us of freedom, though as human beings, we have been given the faculty of choice and the power to shape the world in which we live.”
“We do not lose sight of that freedom even when rushing to fulfill appointments and responsibilities. Our freedom comes from God and through God. No matter where we are or what we are doing, the empowering spirit of God uplifts and strengthens us. Our spirits soar as we claim our unity with the One Presence and One Power in the universe.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 345
“I offer only miracles today;
for I would have them be returned to me.”
