Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Every value we held before must be discarded.”
“A Course in Miracles can be described as radically different from most belief systems we’ve experienced. It’s not easy to discard how we viewed the world before. Much of what we believed mirrored what our families taught us. Most of us struggle when trying to handle the knowledge that our families were wrong. Perhaps we can look at this in a different way.
Each of us has a role to be purveyor of Course ideas. We teach by example. We don’t have to force others to change; we don’t even have to suggest that their way is wrong. All we need to do is live our own lives mirroring these new beliefs, letting others choose whether or not to mimic our example.
If we truly believe that we aren’t separate minds and separate bodies, we’ll be comfortable just being, not preaching. And we’ll know that whatever we believed before was fine and that what we believe now is what we’ve been readied to learn.”
“On old value may rear its head today. That’s okay.
I can smile on it and go about my business.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Admitting when we have been wrong is not a sign of weakness but one of strength.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Never think of a mistake you made without remembering the loving presence of the One who was there at the time and did not judge you. Picturing the divine within the past is closer to the Truth than picturing a scene devoid of Light. I can’t change the past, but I can transform it. God was there when it happened, embracing me and everyone. By adding this Truth to the memory, I heal the source of pain.”
Wayne Dyer: “Sadness is experienced in your mind by processing and evaluating your life from a perspective of not having.”
Paul Ferrini: “If you see the glass as half empty, do not be surprised if before too long there is nothing left in the glass. Lack is the result of negative perception.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“My appreciation of God’s grace
overflows into my life in loving, caring ways.”
“As a child of God, I am heir to a wellspring of love and caring. My awareness of the wondrous gift of grace increases, and my appreciation of it overflows into my life. I am gracious in my interactions with others.”
“I think of and support people in a loving manner, all the while demonstrating respect for them. Even with a glance of recognition, such as a nod of my head or a smile, I connect with others in a sincere and appreciative manner. I trust that when decisions that impact others are being considered, the good of all is regarded and each person involved feels at peace, confident, and valued.”
“I think, speak, and act from the understanding that God’s grace is for all and to be shared with all.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 348
“I have no cause for anger or for fear,
for You surround me.
And in every need that I perceive,
Your grace suffices me.”
