Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Whatever we give to another,
we give to ourselves.”
“We feel bad after we have intentionally harmed or undermined the well-being of someone else. Not doubt our mean-spiritedness went unnoticed by some, probably those who are more convinced of the rewards of offering only love to the world. How much more peaceful our path would be if we followed their example.
We don’t have to make huge changes in our lives to begin feeling much better. One act, one moment at a time, will result in monumental changes before we know it. What can we do? We can smile, always, instead of frowning or pouting. We can say please and thanks every time we have an exchange with another. We can listen with our hearts rather than the ego. We can make the decision to stay silent if what we are about to utter isn’t loving.”
“I will remember today that when I smile and listen,
change occurs.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “The only way to protect our freedom is to check the hatred in our own minds.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Organization and planning are more spiritual that nonchalance and chaos. There’s a tendency to assume that spiritual beliefs should be acted on in uncommon ways. For example, as a sign of faith, to spend money we don’t have. Or to act as if we are ‘unconcerned with appearances.’ But living contrary to the norms proves nothing. The world tends to be less preoccupying if we fit in rather than stand apart. If taking a strong moral stand is required, then of course, we do so. But, in general, those who work, dress, interact with family members, and carry on conversations in a natural way invite fewer problems because they are less likely to agitate other people’s attitudes.”
Wayne Dyer: “…perfect joy is found in the absence of striving for it, and instead realizing it is within you.”
Paul Ferrini: “Abundance comes into your life, not because you have learned to memorize some mumbo jumbo incantation, but because you have learned to bring love to the wounded aspects of your psyche.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“The Christ Presence within
is our source of ever-renewing life, love, and wisdom.”
“Colorfully wrapped Christmas presents are symbols of my love and affection for family and friends and of my desire for their lives to be filled with joy. The message of each gift I give is, “I love and appreciate you.”
“One of the greatest gifts I can give to others, however, does not come wrapped in paper. With the gift of prayers, I hold my loved ones in my heart and rejoice with them that the spirit of Christ unites us.”
“I cherish the prayers of others as well. Knowing that those who love and care about me are holding me in their hearts and minds, I am uplifted.”
“Our prayers for one another are joyful acknowledgments of the Christ Presence within – the presence of ever-renewing life, love, and wisdom.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 353
“My eyes, my tongue, my hands,
my feet today have but one purpose;
to be given Christ to use to bless the world with miracles.”
