Seeds for the Garden of Your Mind

December 20

Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:

“We will give up judgment.”

“How many times have we heard from friends and foes that we should use better judgment? Now the Course tells us to give it up. Is judgment a bad thin? Seeking guidance from other students on this matter will be helpful. What we’ll learn is that judgment, if “dictated” by the Holy Spirit, will never be wrong. On the other hand, if the ego has defined the terms of judgment, those terms will be at the expense of other people, always. The ego knows only fear. Fear always demands negative judgment.

It’s hard to believe that we can give up judging others. It’s the first, automatic response we have when another person claims our attention. How cunning is the ego!

Rather than relinquishing all of our negative judgments, we can begin to revise how we respond to others. Realistically, every decision we make requires judgment of some kind, but when we hear the voice of the Holy Spirit rather than the ego, we offer only love. We begin to judge others as always worthy of love.”

“If my thoughts of others are not loving today,
I’ll ask the Holy Spirit for better thoughts.”

Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “In America today we must have love. We must ask God to remove from our hearts any feelings that we are superior to anyone, or that we should have more rights to opportunity than anyone else. Life is forcing us to manifest on earth the consciousness of Heaven.”

Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “God cares about me, about everyone, about everything. To do all things with care is to do all things with God. The inner qualities we bring to our daily activities, and not the form they take, determine the degree of connection and peace we experience. One career is no less spiritual than another, one household task no less holy, and one friend or companion no less a child of God.”

Wayne Dyer: “A sense of purpose is not about what you do or about going on your ideal vacation. It is not realized by anything or anyone external to you. Purpose is found by being willing to suspend your ego, knowing you are eternally connected to God, and surrendering the little mind to the big mind.”

Paul Ferrini: “Many of you study prosperity consciousness, yet what you do does not seem to prosper. Why is this? Because you do not know your true worth. If you knew your true worth, you would not feel that something was missing from your life. You would feel grateful for everything you have.”

Unity’s Daily Word:

“I live in harmony with all in God’s creation.”

“Feeling the sun on my face and the wind in my hair, I wonder in amazement at the way in which the climate operates to give exactly what is needed.”

“Looking at the world around me, I see birds, trees, flowers, and rocks of different shapes, sizes, and colors. I marvel at how seamlessly they blend into one solid, unified landscape of God’s creation.”

“I also see people of many different shapes, sizes, races, and backgrounds and acknowledge that each one is a beloved child of God. The creativity of God is etched into the face, voice, character, and spirit of every human being. I note with joy the way in which such marvelously diverse people meld together to create a landscape that is filled with talent, vitality, and harmony.”

A Course in Miracles: Lesson 354

“We stand together, Christ and I,
in peace and certainty of purpose.
And in Him is His Creator, as He is in me.”
