Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing The Course:
“To join with others is to heal.”
“We get together with others all the time. We join them for dinner, for movies, for cards, for conversation, for intimacy. But coming together with someone for single purposeful encounter is not the same as joining with them. How it differs is the key lesson we’re here to learn.
Joining, as defined by the Course, means understanding our singleness of real purpose here. It means remembering the One Spirit that resides in all of us. It’s about honoring each other as the sole creation of God. It’s about pure love.
When we are not remembering our Oneness, not remembering to love, we are feeling the fear of separateness, of comparison, of conflict, of competition, of judgment, of lack. We are not at peace. We are not in the presence of the Holy Spirit. We are not healed. But it is never too late to learn the lesson of Oneness, of forgiveness, and thus of healing. The other people on our path are our vehicles for the journey.”
“If I want healing today,
healing of the mind or body,
I need only remember the holy place within where the Holy Spirit resides.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “A gentle and accepting mind always feel close to God. I alone block my perception of Oneness by thinking defensively. It may be rational to fear someone physically, but not spiritually. God does not hold me back from feeling close to anyone – telemarketer, teenager, politician, postal worker, cable company executive, spouse, or self-help author. When I relax my mind, my vision can now move past the surface of things, and there, awaiting me, is a great Splendor.”
Wayne Dyer, There’s a Spiritual Solution to Every Problem: “There are seven ways I define spiritual: Surrender, Love, Infinite, Empty, Generous, Connectedness, Cheerful. You can see that spiritual is not restricted to any religion in my interpretation.”
Paul Ferrini, Reflections of the Christ Mind: “If our lives have any meaning to you at all, you must know that we do not claim a special place. Neither Mary nor I is more spiritual than you are. We are like you in every way. Your pain is our pain. Your joy is our joy. If this were not true, we would not come to teach.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“I am one with all in a world
that sparkles with God’s creativity.”
“I love those moments when my life truly sparkles. I could be skiing, dancing, or enjoying a restful vacation. I may be taking in the beauty of a majestic mountain, quiet forest, or winding stream. I respond with joy to nature awash in God’s glorious artistry.”
“Perhaps I have little free time to get away to enjoy such beauty. Still, I can envision the beauty of God’s world in prayerful communion. Even five minutes of imagining can transport me to a picturesque setting where I can revel in God’s master design.”
“Through this sacred time, I am reminded that I, too, am one of God’s beautiful creations. With the confirmation, I experience a unity and belonging that brings me great joy.”
