Karen Casey, Daily Meditations for Practicing the Course:
“Not all relationships that are right for us are peaceful.”
“Every person we have contact with offers a learning opportunity. It may happen tht what we have to learn in some relationships doesn’t feel all that pleasant. Even hostile relationships can be purposeful and valuable. Our mission is to heal, and healing occurs through our encounters with others.
It’s not unusual to be confronted with the same difficult person day in and day out. The Course would say that’s not coincidental. The agitation we feel is not about the other person, no matter how strong we desire it to be so. That we come together, again and again, can only mean healing is called for, and healing is possible. Our task is to desire it, seek a new perspective on the struggle, and wait. If we really want help, it will come. If we really want healing, it will happen.”
“Today may include some strife with a friend.
We can draw closer if we so desire.”
Marianne Williamson, A Year of Daily Wisdom: “Often the true path of love begins only when romance has begun to taper off, for love is the capacity to see light when darkness has begun to eclipse it.”
Hugh Prather, Morning Notes: “Honest and specific acknowledgment of my own fallibility allows connection with others to come more easily. If I think I am more spiritual, wiser, or further along than other people, any mistake I make will be jolting. But ‘trials’ are an opportunity to make a better choice this time around. And mistakes indicate the realities of my present state of progress and thus are an invitation to move another step forward in a specific direction. My struggles soften as I realize that we all struggle together.”
Wayne Dyer: “You learned that joy was possible only when life was going the way you thought it should. Consequently, you developed a habit of abandoning a joyful appreciative thought in favor of sadness when life wasn’t as you thought it should be, and you were encouraged to believe that your sorrow was only natural.!”
Paul Ferrini: “Nobody tries to change, fix or heal anyone else. Healing is done by the Spirit in the instant the individual stops playing the role of victim and takes full responsibility for his or her life.”
Unity’s Daily Word:
“My faith in God nourishes and sustains me.”
“Jesus gave us powerful examples of faith in action. He explained that if we have faith even as small as a grain of mustard seed, we can move mountains. Moreover, anything we ask for in faithful prayer, we will receive.”
“Faith in not something that is passive. Our faith requires a commitment from us. If thoughts of lack come to mind, we counteract such negativity by counting our blessings and giving thanks for the abundance of good things we have. The ability of our bodies to heal is enhanced by our affirmations of life, which stimulate a positive response from the life within our very cells.”
“God is absolute good, and the power of God can overcome any condition in life. In faith we accept the abundance, healing, and joy that are ours in God.”
A Course in Miracles: Lesson 346
“Today the peace of God envelops me,
and I forget all things except His Love.”
